It is always advantageous to provide the benefits of the ease of appointment/survival clause for locker tenants. The great advantage of using these facilities is that in the event of the unfortunate death of one of the common locker tenants, the right to the contents of the locker will not be automatically transferred to the tenant or surviving candidates unless there is a survival/appointment clause. b) If the bank provides access to survivors/candidates for the deceased candidate (s), it does not insist on the presentation of a certificate of succession, an administrative letter or an estate, etc., or receives a guarantee from survivors/candidates. (a) Where the only locker tenant designates a person, the bank normally allows the applicant access to the locker and the freedom to remove the contents of the locker in the event of the death of the only tenant in the locker. If the locker was hired at the same time as the operating instructions and the lockers designate one or more persons as nominees, in the event of the death of one of the tenants, the bank normally grants access to the locker and the freedom to remove the contents in common to survivors and nominees. In the event that the safe was rented at the same time as the survival clause and the tenants were ordered to grant access to the safe “either to the back-survivor, to the former or survivor” or to another survival clause, the bank normally follows the warrant in the event of the death of one or more of the tenants in the locker. However, the bank usually takes the following precautions before processing the contents. If the legal heir (s) wishes to continue with the locker, the Bank may enter into a new contract with the nominees/survivors/heirs and also comply with KYC standards for legal nominees/heirs. Bank is not obligated to open sealed/closed packages found in the locker while it forwards them to the nominated and surviving locker rental company. In order to facilitate the identification of Safe Deposit Lockers on the basis of locker keys, the bank usually has all the keys in the locker marked, an identification code that could indicate the bank and branch that provides the locker. For the safety of your valuables, we offer a deposit device in many of our stores. There is a nominal annual rent that depends on the size of the locker and the centre where the branch is located.
The rent is payable in advance for the year. A copy of the locker order agreement may be provided to the locker rental company at the time the locker is issued. The tenant and depositor of safe items is informed that access to safe/safe items can only be granted as an agent of the legal heirs of the deceased landlord/depositor of safe items, provided that this access to survivors/candidates does not infringe on the right or claim that a person may have against the survivor.
