Av Collective Agreement Maternity Leave

This newsletter informs the services and agencies of the central public administration (CPA) of the significant changes to the maternity and parent provisions negotiated with certain negotiators as part of the 2018 collective bargaining. The following notices provide the staff community with interpretations of guidelines, instructions and updates regarding collective agreements, classification, compensation and labour relations, as well as National Joint Council (NJC) guidelines. If you work for a company without a collective agreement, there may be a good level of benefits in the form of an occupational retirement solution, a salary supplement on parental leave and an annual salary review. Typically, these are governed by an employer-designed policy. Therefore, the employer can unilaterally and at any time decide to change the terms of the worst – without negotiating with you.
